We are seeing a shift in bridal trends currently where brides to be are opting for plainer and simpler gowns. Brides are moving away from highly detailed lace and intricate detail and instead choosing simpler chiffon and satin fabrics with less fuss. As always Madeline Gardner is right there on-trend and has some amazing understated gowns in her collection this season for brides wanting this style. Take a look at some of our highlights…
From the Morilee Blu Collection allow us to introduce to you Roberta, style number 5768. Made from Dupioni this A-line gown has a ruched bodice, v-neckline, plunging side splits and a plunging v-back. A floaty number perfect for a wedding in the sunshine.
Providence, style 5712 exudes sheer elegance! A box-pleated A-line gown with off-the-shoulder traps made of soft Peau de Soie. The back features a collar and soft covered buttons. It even has pockets for your lipstick!
If you want a little bit of lace look no further than Reese, style number 5766. A Larissa satin fit and flare gown with just a hint of frosted, embroidered Chantilly lace with chalk white beads to the sides and end of the train. A classic style in ivory or white.
Louise, style number 6893 is a chic and sophisticated Duchess satin fit and flare gown with wrap detail to the bust area and off the should cap sleeves which are detachable to personalise the dress to your own taste or to change the look from daytime to night time. To the reverse you’ll find silk covered buttons all the way to the end of the hemline.
A trend you will be seeing a lot of in the future is soft, plain, floaty chiffon skirts teamed with intricate bodices like Polly, style 6907. For more relaxed nuptials, beach weddings and boho themes these are easy to wear gowns without too much structure. Polly has an A-line chiffon skirt matched with an all over Chantilly lace bodice accented with crystal beading and embroidery. The straps are detailed with appliques. For other great examples of this look be sure to check out Roxie, Rio and Romilda.
The benefits of choosing a plainer gown means you can really accessorise to the max whether it be statement jewellery, hair or shoes. Visit our accessories section to start thinking about whether you might like to add a sparkly belt, statement headpiece or tiara.
